Alpe d’Huez is a ski resort located on a plateau at 1,850 meters above sea level, in the Massif des Grandes Rousses in Isère. It is acclaimed for its skiing area in winter but also for its pleasant climate and its outdoor activities in summer. The south-facing resort is also renowned for its sunshine. Indeed, thanks to its microclimate, the resort can enjoy sunny days for close to 300 days a year! The Huez village is located at 1,450 meters above sea level and the Pic Blanc is at 3,300 meters above sea level. For that matter, you can enjoy a stunning viewpoint over close to ⅕ of France from that peak, from Italy to the Massif Central! This tourist resort is referenced as being part of the “large skiing areas”. Apart from alpine and cross-country skiing which represent the main activity of vacationers during winter, the Alpe d’Huez offers many sports and cultural activities as well as numerous events all year long. But the core of its tourism still comes from its skiing area in winter!
